It all started with the plan for a small local march with a few friends to stand in solidarity with the Women’s March on Washington’s, national event. Over 2000 people showed up! It was a day that Fairbanks will never forget as so many in our community stood together, with people around the globe, united by shared beliefs in human and civil rights.
When the march was over the buzz didn’t stop. On Facebook, thru emails and phone calls, it became clear that so many are feeling the same: We are all looking for a place to make a difference in our community, country, and the world. Clearly, we were not done and this is how March On Fairbanks came to be.
We will continue to organize events for the like-minded FEMandIST folks of Alaska and their allies. Join us as we move forward our progressive agendas, focused on human and civil rights for all people, on a Local, State, and National level. The Mission of March On Fairbanks is education, outreach, and fundraising.
